Brewing for years,
Ninety-nine beers,
And now it has come to this.
Proudly I thundered,
"Batch one hundred!"
A brew session not to be missed.
-
An event this propitious,
Calls for methods ambitious,
Something not done in the past.
A really big beer,
Using five-gallon gear,
Now this should be quite a blast.
-
First with the yeast,
To prepare for the feast,
We concoct a one gallon starter.
The yeast starts to bubble,
Without any trouble,
For homebrew we thank Jimmy Carter!*
-
Twenty-four pounds,
I like how that sounds,
A grain bill beyond common reason.
A syrupy wort,
The color of dirt,
As they say, what the hell, tis the season.
-
With time-well spent,
Can I reach twelve percent?
Perhaps, with a right kind of mash.
Two mashtuns of grains,
Well-chosen yeast strains,
If Moose Drool was pot, this is hash!
